Sunshower Community

A Group Homestead in the Santa Cruz Hills

Sunshower Community is a land-based intentional community, rooted in earth stewardship and interpersonal connection. We live here to be close to nature, and close to the friends with whom we share this special place. We live nestled among fruit trees, organic vegetable gardens, and thriving California native plants. Together, we care for the land and animals, and care for each other. For nearly 35 years, our community has grown, evolved, and seen many transitions.

This year we are reforming, with a renewed intention to cultivate a rich sense of connection. Anchored by long-time owners in their 60s and a dedicated group of renters, we seek to cultivate a beautiful, fun, and deeply nourishing environment together. If you are looking to settle down, steward the land, and build meaningful relationships with those around you, Sunshower Farm might be the place your new home.

Tim is a therapist, songwriter, and jack of many trades. He built most of the structures on the land over the last 35 years. He now works as the director of a nonprofit counseling center, training new therapists. Tim loves singing, hiking, writing, and playing strategy games. He stays abreast of political and social issues, applying his fondness for both critical thinking and conscious dialogue.
